Throughout the toolkit, the terms mother or maternal or she or her are used in reference to the birthing person. We recognize not all birthing people identify as mothers or women. The opioid settlement funds, to be disbursed over the next 18 years, will go to states and localities for the purpose of addressing the opioid epidemic.
