Prevention in a Tribal Context: Two Feathers Family Services

Join us for the second session in the 2025 Child Abuse Prevention Month webinar series! As part of Child Abuse Prevention Month and the theme “It Takes a Village,” this webinar will highlight the importance of culturally rooted prevention efforts in Tribal communities. Two Feathers Family Services will share insights on community-driven strategies that support Indigenous youth and families. Youth presenters will lead the discussion by sharing their experiences and perspectives on mentorship, cultural humility, trust-building, and systems change. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how to foster meaningful collaboration with Tribal communities and take action to support Indigenous-led prevention efforts.

Presenters will speak to how and why this work was started, the recommendations that are moving this work forward, and next steps to ensure the state reforms the mandated reporting system.

Children and Families: A Panel Conversation

A diverse panel of prevention and child welfare professionals, from California and around the country, who come to their work with lived experience of the child welfare system will wrap up our month's reflection on the meaning and possibilities of our theme, "It takes a village." Panelists will share how their life experiences have informed their work, their perspectives on what we need to build/rebuild the "village" that families need, and ideas for action for all of us.
